Allansford 10 kms east of Warrnambool Victoria is a town of approx 1500 (2016 Census). 

Numerous families are moving to Allansford, it has a School, General store, Bakery and Pub with Motels rooms. It is very close to the popular Premier Speedway.  Numerous new large blocks have been opened and built on in Carrols road. Carrols road is a narrow road with room for 1 car only, it has large drains on either side. Many people, runners, walkers, kids on bikes and dogs use this road for fitness and enjoyment any time of day. School buses are on his road daily with numerous children getting on and off every day. There are many trucks that use this road as well. 

Currently the speed limit on this road is 80 kph as it is deemed semi rural road. Many people use this road for access to the properties and business. It is very difficult to stay out of the drains when people are walking and cars need to pass. I myself have nearly been hit. 

Obviously with Covid restrictions that have been in place more and more people use this road to get their daily exercise. Someone was killed a few weeks ago, I fear this may happen again. As there is no safe walking trail around Allansford. There is a framework in place to create a boardwalk along Carrols Road but speaking with the council this is a long way off as its not classified as URGENT. I disagree with this as do many residents. 

2 issues that I want to raise with everyone. 

1. REDUCE THE SPEED LIMIT ON CARROLLS ROAD ALLANSFORD TO 60 KPH, DOWN FROM 80 KPH.
