MBMC commissioner Dr Naresh Gite had placed a proposal before the general body regarding extending metro to the Mira-Bhayander region. All parties including the ruling BJP-Shiv Sena, Congress, NCP agreed to the need to extend metro beyond Dahisar. The proposal will now be sent to the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA), the agency implementing the metro projects.
