Friends, As you know, Hon. CM Devendra Fadnavis ji attended a grand public function in Mira Road on last Saturday and made quite a few announcements for Mira Bhayandar. It was a very reassuring to see our Mayor Smt. Geeta Jain and MLA Shri. Narendra Mehta putting our metro demand strongly and very publicly to the CM. A copy of the petition was also handed over to CMO officials. CM had to reply to this and he informed that the feasibility study for the Dahisar-Kasarvadavali Metro has already been initiated by DMRC and MBMC will be covered by it, if found to be feasible. It was a satisfying declaration from the CM who also heads the MMRDA. However, I was not completely convinced. On doing some background research, we found some contradicting facts. The DMRC was engaged for 118 kms. of Metro, which does not include Dahisar-Kasarvadavali line !! Do check out the news article here which explains this controversy. On inquiring this with our Mayor, it was informed that the CM has issued a separate order for this and it will be taken up. However, it could not be confirmed though from any sources. So now, we are left wondering was the CM's announcement just an assurance without any action ? As a next step I will continue to engage the authorities and get regular updates on the status of the actions on this promise. We need to ensure that we demand our rights and work constructively to a better quality of life. It’s only unfortunate that despite this, we hardly see any of the basic requirements like adequate water supply, transport and roads adequately provided. Lets ensure this changes asap.
