ACCORDINGLY IN THE MEETING HELD ON 07 07 2023, IT WAS UNANIMOUSLY DECIDED THAT THESE ISSUES SHALL BE DEALT SEPARATELY AND NOT BY THIS COMMITTEE AS THE SCOPE OF THESE ISSUES IS NOT LIMITED TO SBI ONLY...."

(By forwarding the signed copy of the minutes appended in the above link, Com. CH Venkata Chalam, duly signed by himself, as The then Genl. Secretary of Tamilnadu Bank Employees Federation CONFIRMED THE FACTS UNDER HIS OWN SIGNATURE ( when Pension Scheme was introduced in the year 1995 ). STILL HE PRETENDS HIS IGNORANCE !!

There are some questions which I would endeavour to answers as per best of my knowledge:
Q- Retrospective or prospective?
A-retrospective since the committee has agreed to our contention that it was an ‘anomaly’ which is now being corrected and it had to be from the date it was ‘committed’!
Q-Retrospective effect means payment of arrears between ₹4500-5000cr , Bank may go in to appeal to SC
A-Let’s be kind and grateful to our beloved Chairman who has been architect of this achievement and who has made it possible. Well because of this it can be likened to a ‘ consent decree’ so there is no question of going in to appeal
Q-When we would get arrears before Diwali or not ?
A-Have patience and faith in the Bank and check your account daily for few days now onwards
Q-Any decision on Pension Updation?
A-Committee in its report has dealt with only issue raised by FSBIPA & AISBIOF which is about 50% alone . However, Committee has made a reference to both other issues of 100% DA neutralisation (since granted)and Pension Updation without naming us but has not commented ! We intend to continue with the litigation for updation as well when court resumes hearing on 22nd January,24 .
Also, as you all may be aware that this issue is under active negotiation between IBA & UFBU and there is a possibility of their coming to an understanding leading to agreement in forthcoming meeting scheduled for 9th November.
Q-Updation on RBI lines or some other formula?
A-RBI formula is a remote possibility, we may see a diluted version.
Incidentally, our case is based on SC order in V Kasturi Vs SBI and we would request the court to order compliance by bank
All said & done, future engagement of GOP would depend on your continued financial support. Wait for announcements from GOP about contributions.
I once again, gratefully acknowledge huge support of Sri Khara who has taken bank to greater high and taken care of welfare of staff and we the pensioners who now don’t feel ignored.
We all miss our Sri Upadhyay Ji who build up this case on solid legal foundation
