To,
HIS LORDSHIP . SRI NUTHALAPATI VENKATARAMANA GARU,

SUBJECT:
APPEAL LETTER BY BANK RETIREES FOR HUMBLE SUBMISSION TO THE HON'BLE CHIEF JUSTICE OF INDIA SRI NUTHALAPATI VENKATA RAMANA GARU ON HIS LORDSHIP'S VISIT TO VIJAYAWADA AT THE VENUE - SIDHARTHA KALASHALA AUDITORIUM ON 25 12 2021

YOUR LORDSHIP,
At the outset, we deem it as our great privilege and pleasure to have your appointment to submit our grievance concerning the pension revision.
PREAMBLE:
It has been the established practice to revise pension to the retired employees periodically along with salary revisions for the working employees from time to time, to commensurate the mounting inflation , is an universal phenomena.
However, we the bank retirees have been deprived of this basic requirement for over two decades ever since the introduction of pension scheme in the banking industry way back in 1993.
During this interregnum period of more than two decades, the salaries of the bank workers have been revised seven times and whereas, our pension basic has been remind static without any upward revision even till date against the mounting inflation.
Resultantly, we have been forced to knock the doors of various courts for justice fighting various cases for decades together against the discrimination meted out against us.
The all time famous Supreme Court’s verdict (1982) in D.S.Nakara's case has been the thumb rule application for many judgments passed by the apex court subsequently in favour of the lamenting pensioners.
In fact, it's not an exaggeration to say that any monetary benefit if at all we could secure so far, is only due to courts' intervention - but not otherwise.
We furnish the details of one such unresolved case which is now pending in our Hon'ble Supreme Court for immediate disposal. THE DETAILS ARE FURNISHED HERE UNDER:
lTEM NO.22 Court 15 (Video Conferencing) SECTION IV-B SUPREME COURT OF INDIA
