My Dear friends,
Bid adieu - Syndicate Bank ... Recollection of Sweet reminiscences
Just a little while ago, the Government announced the third phase of mergers of the PS Banks and as a part of it, Canara Bank and Syndicate Bank are being merged to emerge as the 4th Largest entity in the Banking sector.
Indian Banking Industry has seen many such amalgamations /adsorptions/reconstructions in the past also for obvious reasons - many in the private sector but seldom in the public sector. That way, we are made victims. Gone those days when legends like R K Talwar were heading the institutions who were the leaders by example and who could resist political interference tooth and nail.
So long as the proxies of the political bosses head the banks, let us not expect miracles . This exercise of mergers is one such "cosmetic surgery"
In the back drop of my above feelings, & as a token of my recollecting sweet reminiscences, I share my thanks-giving letter while laying down my office as the State Secretary of Syndicate Bank Officers Association as also Treasure of All India Bank Officers Confedration (AP State Unit for over a decade) on 28th. April, 2001 - an antique piece in my active banking life of almost three decades........ In fact, I took leadership reins when our organisation (SBOA) was passing through a CRISIS PERIOD (created by the then management of the Bank - more fully elaborated in my bio-data annexed here below: ):

I remain - Yours,
