JUDICIAL TRANSPARENCY - THE COMMON MAN'S COVETED DREAM......
My Dear Friends,
A Writ was filed by a group of young advocates - upcoming in their professional competence , in their bid to bring transparency in the judicial functioning - The Common Man's Coveted Dream
The review petition which was filed by National Lawyers’ Campaign for Judicial Transparency and Reforms was dismissed by a Bench of CJI Ranjan Gogoi and Justices Madan B Lokur, Kurian Joseph, AM Khanwilkar and Ashok Bhushan.
“The petition is liable to be dismissed on the ground of delay alone, the Court held. Even otherwise, the review petition is devoid of merits”, the Court concluded.
Notwithstanding the above final verdict of the Hon'ble Apex Court, One has to give a serious thought as to the impending urgency for a transparent judicial functioning to ensure justice to the common man expeditiously.
In fact, towards this objective alone, Sri Anna Hazare - himself being an Ex- Army Soldier as also the legend crusader of socio-economic reforms, has raised an issue to bring the Judges of the Supreme Court also within the ambit of "Jan Lokpal Bill" when it was tabled in the Parliament long ago.
In the above backdrop, I congratulated for the valiant efforts of the forum of the young and upcoming advocates and assured them of my support for this noble cause .
To substantiate the Impending urgency, I cited the two contradicting judgments passed by the Hon'ble Apex Court pertaining to the issues concerning the lamenting lot of Bank Retirees, as a live example and sought their help and support.
