This goes out to the Christian soldiers and all the remnants in the House: THANK YOU FOR SIGNING THE PETITION TO KEEP THE MARRIAGE DEFINITION IN THE CAYMAN ISLANDS BETWEEN ONE MAN AND ONE WOMAN!

THIS IMMEDIATELY DIRECTED OUR LEGISLATORS WHERE TO STAND ON THIS MATTER!

Our legislators heard YOU, their bosses, loud and clear!

When the Grand Court ruled earlier this year that homosexual marriage was immediately legal in the Cayman Islands, the Cayman Islands Government filed an appeal primarily on the basis that the judiciary exceeded their authority to make that ruling since the role of the court is to enforce existing law, not create new laws from the bench.

As such, the Appeal Court agreed with the position of the Cayman Islands Government that any attempt by the Grand Court to wholesale change the Marriage Law as done by the Chief Justice was unlawful, and thereby struck down the lower court’s ruling since this is a right reserved to our legislators, who act on behalf of the voters’ will and direction.

They are elected to represent us.

Therefore, as the Appeal Court ordered, MARRIAGE IS TO REMAIN BETWEEN ONE MAN AND ONE WOMAN IN THE CAYMAN ISLANDS!

Even though the Appeal Court suggested that our legislators make provisions to acknowledge homosexual unions, again, the Appeal Court’s suggestion in NO WAY forces our legislators to create this law against the will of the majority of voters in the Cayman Islands.

It should be also noted that if any effort is made by the United Kingdom to attempt to force us to change our laws against our will through an Order in Council, then they first would have to devolve to the Cayman Islands people the right to leave the United Kingdom in our right to self-determination and to remain with our Biblical beliefs enshrined in our Constitution.

We’ve already won!

May God continue to bless the Cayman Islands!
