One of the reasons we’re opposed to Love’s building a truck stop on Prospect Road is the immediate negative impact it would have on the property values for all of the surrounding residential neighborhoods, even before the first tractor trailer pulls in to refuel.

Just the possibility of a truck stop in their backyard has already led multiple homeowners to consider selling their homes before their equity is affected. They have reason to be worried.

A 2015 study by researchers at the Center for Advanced Infrastructure and Transportation at Rutgers found “the negative effects of truck stops on nearby residential property values could be significant at over 10%.” One proposed truck stop they studied could result “... in a more than 13% reduction in nearby residential property values.”

Help us stop the truck stop on Prospect Road by inviting your friends and neighbors to join this group.
