Preserve our Neighborhoods & Property Values! NO to Loves Truck Stop @ Prospect/Interstate
Why this petition matters
NO TRUCK STOP!
Dear Homeowners,
This is an urgent matter that needs your attention:
Loves Truck Stop has placed a contract on the parcel of land at 1733 Prospect Road. This development will have a direct and negative impact on our daily family lives / quality of life , safety and property values of our existing neighborhoods.
We purchased homes In these subdivisions as our family or forever homes. Many of us chose these neighborhoods due to the close proximity to the park, expected increase of property values and to be out of the hustle and bustle of some of the more commercially developed areas. We planned to raise our children, send them through school in these neighborhoods based on these visions and ideals.
Many of us embraced the sophisticated growth and developments along Lake St. Louis Boulevard and industrial areas along Civic Center. The Meadows Shopping Center has given upscale dining and shopping options within our proximity. The office developments along Hawk Ridge were constructed with class and curb appeal. Lake St. Louis has continued to do a great job of keeping sophistication, family values, vision and property values front of mind with their growth and development. Unfortunately, we need Wentzville to start to do the same. Every dollar thrown at this city isn’t a good dollar to take!
PRESERVE THE QUALITY OF LIFE AND SAFETY OF OUR NEIGHBORHOODS!
Many of us expected and embrace a gas station at this corner (Quick Trip, Phillips etc), possibly a strip center of sorts with a bar/grill/restaurant, possibly a medical office or child care center… or a combination of the like. NEVER would any of us expect to purchase homes in newly developed (some still being built) subdivisions for prices between 300k and 600k and of all things a TRUCK STOP, this is not a gas station… a FULL SERVICE TRUCK STOP! possibly be built in front of our neighborhoods in such a beautifully growing and progressive area near our beautiful Quail Ridge Park.
WE SUPPORT TRUCKING! PLEASE SUPPORT OUR FAMILIES AND THE HOMES WE INVESTED IN!
We realize the importance and appreciate Truck Drivers and their role in our supply chain. We believe they should have access to quality accommodations, food, a safe place to park for the evening and get some much needed rest. We as homeowners in this affected area purchased our homes to provide some of those same things to our families. There must be another location other than among newly developing subdivisions to place such a business. This parcel of land stands to have so much potential otherwise to add value to our neighborhoods through aforementioned businesses serving and patronized by the residents of our area.
We all can agree that we support progress and commercial growth for our area. These decisions also need to take into the account of the premise of which the surrounding areas were created and the vision that was promoted and supported by the constituents in this affected area. This business model proposed would be a move in the wrong direction for these 4+ Lake St. Louis and Wentzville neighborhoods affected, leaving our invested homeowners and families to suffer the consequences.
SAY NO TO A TRUCK STOP!
There are Truck Stops along 70 in Foristell, away from homes, as this is a more rural area near a weigh station and within an area that has no impact on family homes.
