"Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing this on paper because I am only allowed 50 minutes of internet a day and only at certain times.
I have arrived Morton Halls induction unit on the 18th of December 2017. Never been to a jail before, the entire thing was new to me. The staff briefed me about the times and what can I do, the following day, the Home Office met me presenting me with my case number and asked me if I want them to book me a ticket to get back, stating that if I return voluntarily then I will get a 12 months ban, but if I do not, then they will ban me for 10 years. I told him that I haven’t finished my studies yet.
Usually, lunch time is from 12 till 13:15, I was on the phone with the lawyer and missed the first 30 minutes, when I went for some food around 12:35 they told me they are closed, luckily I found a piece of bread left so I had it till dinner time.
On the 20th they moved me to the main center, 24 small cells that share two toilets,
Sleeping is very difficult, not only the inmates make noise but also the guards at a very early hours and during the night when they do check ups (Rolls) or when they inform someone of their removal.
There is no scanner to scan documents and the phone signal is terrible. Besides we are only allowed 50 minutes of internet with an awfully slow internet and PCs. One time I spend the whole 50 minutes just sending one email and opening two websites. The other time I couldn’t print an important document and had to beg people to help me out. There is a fax machine but it takes ages to receive documents.
I am trying to stay away from troubles but with the current limitations it is really difficult to do the legal papers before deporting me.
The support I am getting really warms my heart and it is the only light in this dark cell.
Thanks alot."
