I hope your day is off to a great start.
Yesterday I sent you an email with information about our petition, which has now gained over 132,000 signatures! Today I wanted to clarify a few things so we are all on the same page moving forward.
In yesterday's correspondence I mentioned how I felt a change in the language of the petition was necessary in order to more effectively manage the campaign for success. I stand by what I said in yesterday's message, which you can read here.
However, I've also realized that by making those changes, I have in essence created a new petition. The goal of the petition remained the same, but the language was different.
Therefore after speaking with some of my colleagues, and going for a long walk in the woods to contemplate the situation, I've decided it is in our best interest to re-instate all the original language of the petition.
After all, people who signed onto the petition before yesterday's changes, might not agree with the new language. If you are one of those people, then I want you to know I have heard you and I understand.
Managing this petition has not been easy for me, however I consider it a privilege to be doing this. Each day for the past month I have devoted a great deal of thought to this cause, as I attempt to make the right choices and navigate unexpected hurdles and challenges.
So, in conclusion, the language of the petition is back to its original form, and that is where it will remain.
Thank you!
Ryan
