Vaccination Scandal: Change the leadership at Hollyburn Country Club!

The Issue

Friends, Family, Community - Hollyburn Country Club's simple statement of mission.  We cannot accept that this mission be corrupted by the senior leadership of our club to mean selfish privilege. In this incredibly trying time for all Canadians, the recent pop-up vaccination clinic scandal which proposed bringing vaccinations from the Fraser Health Authority to Hollyburn members and staff, demonstrates an unacceptable level of insensitivity and misguided leadership that we believe is irresponsible and unacceptable. There is simply no justification for Hollyburn members or staff to jump the queue ahead of any other Canadian and it is even more reprehensible, given the much more severe outbreak in the Fraser Health Authority, that vaccination spots be taken away from communities or individuals in need.

We believe this project reflects an indefensible lack of judgement by the leadership of the club that demands appropriate repercussions.

We believe those repercussions include the immediate removal of the CEO Ed McLaughlin by the Board of Directors and the resignation of any directors who were aware of and condoned this project.

We further request an immediate statement from the Board apologizing to the public, the government and to our members.

We also demand that the upcoming Annual General Meeting be constituted in a transparent and fully interactive manner in which all members are afforded the opportunity to participate in the proceedings, including the ability to ask questions of and receive full accountability from the Board and club management.
