The issue

The past eight years my life is very much a saddened one, a story shaped by a cruel encounter with the ruthless and callous system of Robodebt. I suffered an unthinkable loss - my son Rhys - over an illegal debt. After continual hounding and lies his illegal debts were referred to a Debt Collection Agency, the Debt Collection Agency were also ruthless and uncaring.

Those responsible for the introduction of Robodebt, knew, without a shred of doubt, that their Scheme was illegal and causing profound distress. Yet, they allowed it to happen. It continued to happen even though legal advice had been given to them, that it could not proceed or be done legally, without changes, to legislation.

The government didn't care about the flaws in this system because the government just didn't care.

It did not trouble the government that this system was needlessly vindictive. It did not trouble the government that error is its most consistent marker.

The Robodebt system, an automated debt recovery scheme, has impacted thousands of innocent lives through its unjust operations. This Scheme wrongfully claimed hundreds of millions from struggling Australians, leading to enormous emotional and financial toll.

In some cases, like mine, it has resulted tragically. The Royal Commission into the Robodebt Scheme, was powerful and proved, without a doubt, that further justice and accountability was recommended, in total 57 recommendations!!!

What is soul-destroying and disheartening is the failure of the National Anti-Corruption Commission in directing any form of justice or effective interventions towards this.

Today the foundation of my plea is the need for transparency, justice and accountability, REAL ACCOUNTABILITY.  At its core is the demand for the release of the sealed section of the Robodebt Royal Commission – a crucial document shrouded in secrecy, which the public has a right to know. The silence around this document adds to the layers of the clear conflict of interest, leading to mistrust in the system that is supposed to serve us.

I am not just seeking justice for my loss only, but Rhys and every other victim did not deserve the cruel and evil treatment that was bestowed upon them by deception and callous indifference, by a greedy, self-absorbed, power hungry cohort. This is a fight against a system that lacks transparency and accountability. It is a fight for the common Australian whose humble voice has been suppressed by a faulty policy.

We cannot bring back the lives lost or undo the pain endured. But, we can prevent more names on that list. We can create a change that will redefine the tomorrow of the countless Australians negatively affected by Robodebt. Your signature can help shed light on a dark corner of Australian governance and bring culpability to those responsible.

Please, join me in this fight. Sign this petition put the necessary pressure on the National Anti-Corruption Commission. Demand full disclosure and accountability in the Robodebt fiasco. Let's ensure this history never repeats itself.

Thank you all for your support!!!!
