I am an animal lover and I am heartbroken by the horrific actions that have been uncovered at Miranda's Rescue in Humboldt County, California. Shannon Miranda, the founder of this so-called non-profit organization, has been entrusted with thousands of dollars from the public and numerous animal shelters across the United States, for the care and protection of vulnerable animals. However, instead of providing a safe haven, he has betrayed this trust in the most appalling way.

   Evidence has surfaced suggesting that thousands of dogs are unaccounted for, with gruesome findings on his property of mass graves containing the remains of countless dogs, including four-month-old puppies with gun shot wounds to their heads . These dogs were meant to be cared for, were adoptable and entrusted into the care of Shannon Miranda. Shannon Miranda reportedly mismanaged funds and misled the public by issuing fake adoption pictures, videos and telling people and shelters that their beloved dogs had found homes when, in truth, they had not.  

   Shannon Miranda has been operating under the guise of a "no-kill, non-profit rescue," yet there have been social media testimonies from former employees, volunteers as well as their families and many other individuals, whom have  bravely come forward, of which reveal a dark history of cruelty and deception. It is  alleged that for more then 28 years, Miranda has been systematically killing dogs, and other animals, and disposing of their bodies in the surrounding areas, such as the Eel River, the property of Miranda's Rescue and allegedly several other locations.  There have been numerous reports to the Humboldt county sheriff's office throughout the years , however those reports and complaints had continued to seemingly be ignored.

The recent updates from the ongoing three-day excavation at Miranda’s Rescue have revealed a horrifying and disturbing truth—a discovery of more than 117 whole dog carcasses, 21 dog skulls, countless other bones, bird remains, a horse, and 661 dog collars, some of which still had identification tags attached. Shannon Miranda, the owner of the rescue, has confessed to making false adoption videos, deceiving good-hearted people into believing that these animals were finding loving homes when, in fact, they were being led to his barn to be killed—shot in the head as a means of euthanasia. This admission by Shannon Miranda also included fake adoption photos with individuals whom did not adopt the animal the individual was requested to take a picture with, and this admission by Shannon Miranda shows acknowledgment of his deceitful actions.

The scale of this atrocity is mind-boggling, and it is a betrayal of trust not only to the animals and their former families but also to the community that believed in and supported Miranda’s Rescue. The act of harming and deceiving in such a manner calls for immediate action and demands scrupulous investigation and justice for the voiceless victims.

We cannot allow this heinous act to fade into oblivion without seeking proper accountability. It is crucial to enforce strict legal action against Shannon Miranda and any accomplices who enabled or participated in these actions. Moreover, we must urge the authorities to tighten regulations and oversight on animal rescue organisations to prevent such atrocities from recurring.

** THAT SHANNON MIRANDA IS REQUIRED TO FORFEIT THE ANIMALS AND PROPERTY OF MIRANDAS RESCUE SANCTUARY,  THAT THE CITY OF FORTUNA TAKE OVER AND USE THIS PROPERTY AS ITS CITY SHELTER, AND BUILD UPON THIS PROPERTY,  PROPER ENCLOSURES FOR ALL ANIMALS AS WELL AS SANITATION SANITATION SYSTEMS . 

** THAT SHANNON MIRANDA IS HELD FULLY ACCOUNTABLE FOR ALL CRIMES FOUND TO THE FULLEST EXTEND OF THE LAW AS WELL AS ANY AFFILIATED INDIVIDUALS WHOM WERE INVOLVED IN ANY,  AND ANY INDIVIDUALS WHO HAD KNOWLEDGE OF THESE CRIMES AND FAILED TO INTERVENE.

** FULL ACCOUNTABILITY FOR ALL CASH DONATIONS DONATED TO MIRANDAS RESCUE WHICH WERE COLLECTED FOR THE VETERINARY CARE AND CONSTRUCTION OF THE ANIMAL ENCLOSURES,  THE FULL AMOUNT OF THESE DONATIONS TO BE ACCOUNTED FOR. 

    **THAT SHANNON MIRANDA IS NO LONGER BE ABLE TO TAKE PART IN ANY RESCUE OR NON PROFIT BUSINESS ACTIVITIES IN ANY STATE OF THE USA AND THAT HIS 501.(C) (3) IS PERMANENTLY REVOKED.

**FULL ACCOUNTABILITY OF SHANNON MIRANDA, AND ANY OTHER AFFILIATIONS THAT HAVE BEEN INVOLVED OR HAVE MADE MONEY OR HAVE HAD THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE CRIMES BEING COMMITED AT MIRANDAS RESCUE.

 ** THAT SHANNON MIRANDA AND ALL EMPLOYEES TAXES ARE REVIEWED BY THE IRS FOR ALL YEARS OF OPERATION WITH SPECIAL ATTENTION GIVEN TO ANY LARGE TAX WRITE OFFS THROUGH THE RESCUE 

** THAT THE BUILDING INSPECTION /PERMIT AGENCY OF WHICH OVERSEES  MIRANDAS RESCUE BE COMPLETELY REVIEWED BY APPROPRIATE AUTHORITIES AND HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEIR FAILURE TO PENALIZE THE OWNER AND FOUNDER OF MIRANDAS RESCUE. WE REQUEST THAT THE APPROPRIATE INDIVIDUALS BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR ALLOWING OPERATIONS TO CONTINUE WITHOUT THE RESCUE  REQUIRED UNDERGROUND SEWAGE SANITATION SYSTEM AND THE FALSE RECORDED MEASUREMENTS OF THE PRESENT ANIMAL ENCLOSURES EXISTING ON THE PROPERTY

** A COMPLETE  REVIEW OF THE SYSTEM TO LOCATE WHERE THE SYSTEM FAILED AND WHO FAILED TO ACT THROUGH THE MULTIPLE REPORTS AND COMPLAINTS FROM CITIZENS OVER THE RESCUES MANY DECADES OF OPERATION, AND THOSE RESPONSIBLE HELD ACCOUNTABLE TO THE FULLEST EXTENT OF THE LAW

** INCLUDE ADDITIONAL YEARS OF OPERATION IN THIS INVESTIGATION AND CONTINUE EXCAVATION ON THE PROPERTY OF MIRANDAS RESCUE . 

** THAT FULL TRANSPARENCY IS GIVEN TO THE PUBLIC WHEN FULL TRANSPARENCY WILL NOT JEOPARDIZE THE CASE WHEN RELATED TO ANY OF THE ANIMALS THAT HAVE BEEN SHOT MORE THAN ONCE OR THAT THROUGH ITS NECROPSY HAS BEEN RECORDED THAT THE ANIMAL SUFFERED BEFORE DEATH.
