Hold PLDT (& other ISPs) accountable for providing quality services

Hold PLDT and other Internet Service Providers accountable for providing quality services, especially during the pandemic when it is a necessity

Given the nature of work and school nowadays, Internet connection is a necessity for us to stay home and stay safe from COVID-19. Our respective Internet connections not only allow us to fulfill our duties in this 'new normal' but it also allows us to receive timely updates that ultimately affect our safety and wellbeing.

In a statement by Mr. Al Panlilio, EVP & Chief Revenue Officer of PLDT, Inc., it was stated that PLDT know[s] how important it is for [the customer] to have stable, reliable and fast Internet connection at home.

Unfortunately, PLDT, among other providers, have fallen short of their commitment to keep their customers connected while staying at home. Some customers have reported not having Internet connection for weeks at a time, despite having reported the issue immediately and repeatedly. Some customers have sent personal messages in FB and direct messages in Twitter, and some have even gone to the offices of PLDT, all but to no avail.

We call on the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) and its parent agency, Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) to heed our petition and assist us resolving this matter.
