Hold Memorial Hospital accountable for their negligence

Hold Memorial Hospital accountable for their negligence
The Issue
In September 2025, I went into natural labor unexpectedly. My experience at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, Georgia, has prompted me to start this petition. I was scheduled for a medically necessary c-section in October, yet when I arrived at the hospital to deliver my son, I encountered significant negligence. For five hours, I remained in labor without receiving the essential examinations that should have been conducted. Furthermore, there were discrepancies in my medical records that pointed to procedures being signed off without ever being performed.
This negligence put myself and my unborn child in a precarious situation which resulted in my son having two skull fractures and requiring a week in the NICU with multiple other interventions. I required several days in the hospital and three blood transfusions.
I believe that Memorial Hospital must be held accountable for their actions. The problems I faced are not isolated incidents, and it is crucial to recognize that other patients may be subjected to the same risks due to the hospital's non-compliance and mismanagement.
I am demanding that Memorial Hospital undergo an external five-year review of their OBGYN unit. During this review, the practices, policies, and procedures must be deeply scrutinized to ensure the safety of all women and children who rely on their services. Moreover, to address potential medical fraud and inaccurate billing, an audit by the Attorney General's Office should be conducted. This audit will investigate claims that procedures were billed at full price despite never being carried out, undermining the trust between patients and healthcare providers.
Such actions are not just crucial for accountability, but also serve as a wake-up call for the medical community to uphold their Hippocratic oath to do no harm. This petition is not just about my own experience; it's about ensuring that no other family has to endure what I went through and restoring faith in our healthcare system.
I urge you to sign this petition to demand transparency, accountability, and justice from Memorial Health University Medical Center. Your signature can help spur the change needed to protect future patients. Together, we can make a difference.
