The Issue

Jessica Polly, a respiratory therapist and part-time photographer accused of cyberstalking (and many other crimes), is the focus of the latest season of the top-rated Iris Award-Winning Podcast Something Was Wrong, created and hosted by Tiffany Reese.

Season 20 of Something Was Wrong highlights the exclusive accounts from seven of Polly’s victims – and their friends and family – detailing the abuse Polly perpetuated for over a decade.

Since 2007, Polly has operated as a serial catfisher, conning over a dozen victims across the United States. In Season 20, Polly’s victims explain how, using images of a med student, “Brody," their abuser lured them into online relationships. After communicating with “Brody” online for a period, the victims were introduced to “his cousin’s girlfriend,” Jessica Polly.

As their toxic online romances with Brody continued, so did their manipulative friendship with Polly. Four of Polly’s victims even became her roommate at points, living with her and her 10-year-old son. Polly’s victims and witnesses outline the online abuse perpetrated by “Brody” and in-person manipulation and monitoring by Polly as a friend.

When Polly was confronted by her victims, she claims her actions of catfishing and emotional terrorism as “harmless pranks.” Reese is publicly exposing Polly’s abuse, which dates back at least to 2007, in hopes of seeking justice for her victims. Reese and the Broken Cycle Media team aim to hold Polly accountable for charges, including (but not limited to) stalking, cyberstalking, sexual assault, child abuse, internet impersonation, recording without consent, and psychological damage.

If you have relevant information or are a victim of Jessica Polly, please file a complaint in your state through the FBI Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3): https://www.ic3.gov/
