California Public Utilities Commission'S(CPUC) mission statement is "We empower California through access to safe, clean, and affordable utility services and infrastructure."  PGE has been found guilty of at least 90 criminal charges, has been allowed to file for bankruptcy and have been bailed out. The company continues to make billions in profits but is allowed by the CPUC to pass their debt burdens on to it's consumers through rate increases, two already in 2024.   The most recently approved PGE rate increase is now the highest in the country.  Depending on where you live you can have both a generation fee and delivery fee which raises your rates even higher.   

If the CPUC was truly designed to ensure the safe, clean and affordable utility services then they need to be "elected positions" and not appointed. We need a balanced board of commissioners  who are not beholden to the Governor who appointed them.  Let's not forget that PGE is a FOR PROFIT company and is committed to it's share holders first, consumers last. 

I call for the break up of PGE and demand that the CPUC protect Californians from predatory utility company like PGE.  We deserve safe and affordable utilities.
