Hold CMCSS Teacher Accountable for Showing Nude Photos to a Student!
Hold CMCSS Teacher Accountable for Showing Nude Photos to a Student!
The Issue
UPDATE: Matt Vedder has resigned from Montgomery Central High School. This petition is now calling for the appropriate charges to be filed.
On March 9, 2026, a female senior at Montgomery County Central High School was called to her teachers desk. Makenzie shared in an interview that, Matthew Vedder, showed her images of a project on his phone. Then he swiped to reveal between 6-8 fully nude photos of himself.
Makenzie was in shock and left to the bathroom in tears to call her mom. Later that evening Vedder admitted to law enforcement that he had shown the photos, claiming it was an “accident.”
More than a month later, there had been no clear resolution.
Parents trust schools to protect their children. A teacher exposing a student to explicit images, under any circumstance, is a serious breach of that trust and should not be tolerated.
We originally called on the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System (CMCSS) to take action and terminate Matthew Vedder. However, on April 9, he resigned from his position, forfeiting his right to due process within the school system.
This does not equal accountability.
An investigation into these allegations has been ongoing for over a month. Now, we are calling on the District Attorney to take appropriate action based on the findings of that investigation, including filing charges that are supported by the evidence.
We are also demanding transparency for Makenzie’s family and encouraging any other students or families in our community who may have experienced or witnessed similar behavior to come forward.
Our children’s voices should never be silenced. They deserve to be heard and protected.
Join us in urging the District Attorney to pursue justice for Makenzie. Sign this petition to demand accountability and help ensure the safety of all students in our community.
( I’ve created this petition with the family’s permission to bring awareness to the issue & to seek justice for their daughter.)
