As summer is in full swing, I can’t help think of how quickly time will pass, and before we know it kids will getting ready for school. Memories of my own children’s “back to school” rituals come to mind. It seems like yesterday that I was preparing them to go off to college. I know many people who will be sending their own children off to CCSU in a few weeks. It worries me. Will they bear witness to “untouchable athletes” who commit crimes?  Will they become a statistic in CCSU’s history of turning a blind eye to domestic / intimate partner violence?  There is a great likelihood that CCSU women will become another victim in this vicious cycle. We must break the silence and make a change in CCSU and all state universities’ Code Of Conduct as it pertains to these crimes. No longer should we accept the statistics or the unaccountability of CCSU administration and the CT Board of Regents. If you haven’t already, please sign and share my petition. Every signature is a call to action. I will meet with Governor Lamont once I get 500 signatures.
