To our supporters,
Thank you for continuing to stand with us. I want to share an urgent and deeply troubling update.
After my family was displaced from our military housing for four months due to mold concerns, we were told the issue had been remediated. But yesterday, I discovered new mold growth on our personal belongings in the master bedroom closet.

When I removed the HVAC vent cover, I found visible dust, dark discoloration, and what appears to be microbial growth inside the ductwork, right where my husband and I sleep.
Even worse, I learned that a maintenance technician sprayed a household chemical, Mold Armor (meant for tubs and tile), directly into our air vents. This product is not approved for HVAC systems and can be dangerous when aerosolized into the home’s ventilation. There was no warning, no consent, and no explanation of the risks to our health.
To be clear:
No air quality testing has been conducted.
No surface sampling or lab analysis was performed.
Florida law (F.S. 468.8411) requires these steps in any mold assessment.
Instead, we’ve been offered cosmetic “repairs,” paint, trim replacement, and vacuuming, while our concerns are dismissed again and again.
This is happening in military housing, under the management of Balfour Beatty Communities, a company already under scrutiny for endangering military families.
Our children, our service members, and our communities deserve better. This is not just our story, it’s one shared by many.
