The Issue
For two years, I've been grappling with the unchecked and blatant negligence from Axis Bank, a financial institution that ought to safeguard its customers' interests, not deny them. Either one of the quarterly interest payments I've been entitled to has been conveniently missed or outright denied. When I attempted to escalate the matter to retrieve my rightful interest for the first year, it was given, but only after a lengthy delay in the following year. This year, however, my inquiries have fallen into a void, without any explanation as to why my quarterly interest was withheld again.
This recurring issue has been most frustrating with the Sector 18 branch in Noida, which seems to be ignoring my complaint altogether. Senior citizens, the most vulnerable among us, often face similar challenges with Axis Bank and find themselves unable to withstand the bank's strategy of delay and neglect, effectively forcing them to abandon their rightful claims.
With no responsibility being fixed by branch heads and a pattern of evading accountability, Axis Bank has turned into a financial nightmare where trust is eroded and customers feel harassed. This bank, entrusted to manage our finances, should be about both credits and debits, yet it operates under a cloud of inconvenience and unanswered queries.
The standard of service provided especially impacts senior citizens, who rely on their hard-earned interest payments as part of their survival strategy in retirement. They should not be subjected to harassment or forced to jump through hoops to claim what is rightfully theirs.
I call upon the regulators and financial authorities to scrutinize Axis Bank's practices and hold them accountable for these repeated failures to deliver promised interest. There must be stronger consumer protection measures and a system to ensure that banks rightly deliver the interests of their clients without delay or excuse.
Action is long overdue, and it's time to rectify this systemic disregard for customer complaints and financial rights before more lives are adversely affected.
