Hi everyone,
I wanted to reach out with a heartfelt thank you to each and every one of you who signed the petition to protect our Ashanti Family Lands. Your support continues to be our strength.
It's been a while since my last update, but that doesn't mean we haven't been busy! I'm thrilled to share that we've made significant progress on two key fronts:
1. Land Rights Defenders Inc.: We've taken a crucial step by forming the Land Rights Defenders Inc. This organization will serve as a powerful voice for our cause and for all those facing similar land rights challenges.
2. UN Advocacy Efforts: The fight doesn't stop at national borders. We've been actively raising awareness at the United Nations on various forums like the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues (UNPFII) and the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR). We're making our voices heard on the global stage!
These are all positive developments that bring us closer to securing our ancestral lands. But the fight isn't over.
We need your continued support. Please share the petition with your friends and family, and stay tuned for future updates.Together, we can ensure that the whispers of our ancestors continue to be heard on these lands for generations to come.
With deepest gratitude,
Land Rights Defenders Team
