

The Huahi Royal Family, Allodial owners of Benimasi-Boadi lands situated and lying within Oforikrom Municipality of the Ashanti Region of the Republic of Ghana. The family genealogically, is made up of descendants of (King) Asantehene Osei Tutu I (Founder of the Ashanti Empire) and his beloved wife (Queen) Oheneyere Huahi Achama Tutuwaa, a union that produced a daughter, the princess Nanaba Konadu Afia-Ofi. This automatically cements the legacy of this family in the root of the history of the Ashanti Empire.
The Huahi Royal Family acquired its root of title in the Benimasi-Boadi Lands (Family Lands) by way of an absolute gift made by the then Asantehene Osei Tutu I to his beloved wife, Oheneyere Huahi Achama Tutuwaa, generations ago during their marriage which added credence to their procreation. This “Gift” is a well-known historical event in the annals of the Ashanti Region of Ghana. The oral account of the history had been further documented and published in public records such as national newspapers without any challenge on the account. A copy of the royal family history was published in the Ghanaian Times newspaper on March 29, 2021.
The union of King Osei Tutu and Queen Huahi Achama Tutuwaa produced a daughter, Oheneba Konadu Afia Ofi who begot two children, Adwoa Yeboah and Akua Bow. Adwoa Yeboah begot Abena Anima and Kwasi Addae whilst Akua Bow Had Kofi Bekoe and Kwame Abosi, (great grandson of King Osei Tutu l and chief Goldsmith of Ashanti Kingdom who became the 1st Abusuapanin (family head) of my tribal community particularised as (Huahi Royal Family) Abena Anima, Yeboah’s daughter begot five children. Akosua Adutwumwaa, Yaw Opoku (2nd family head), Kwame Ababio, Kwesi Mensah and Yaa Dufie (2nd customary successor). Akosua Adutwumwaa who was the 3rd customary successor begot Yaa Anto and Ama Nyanta. Yaa Anto begot Kwasi Owusu (3rd fmily head) whilst her sister Ama Nyanta begot ten children, Kwasi Sarpong, Akua Asamoah, Yaa Tutuwaa, Akosua Achiaa a.k.a Mary Donkor, Kwame Konadu Yiadom (4th family head), Kwame Yeboah, Abena Ataa Birago a.k.a Sarah Ibrahim Bonsu (biological mother of victim, Nana Kwesi Osei Bonsu), Kwabena Tawiah, Adwoa Yeboah a.k.a Sakina Donkor and Kwabena Badu (current family head).
At all material times the Huahi Royal Family have been in peaceful, quiet and uninterrupted possession and occupation of its ancestral lands without interference from any person(s), institution(s), government or otherwise.Consistent with the family's ownership rights, there are lessee(s) occupying portions of the lands who equally had remain in possession by atoning tenancy to the family.
These principles of customary land law regarding the acquisition of the allodial title have recently been codified. Section 2 of the Land Act, 2020 (Act 1036) provides that:The allodial title is: (a) the highest or ultimate interest in land (b) held by the State, a stool, skin, clan, family or an individual and may have been acquired through compulsory acquisition, Conquest, Pioneer discovery and settlement, gift, purchase and agreement, sale/transaction.
The Huahi Royal Family of Benimamsi-Boadi community acting per its fiduciary leader, Abusuapanin Odeneho Odehye Nanaba Kwabena Badu is charged with the duty of custodianship to all lands within the Beniamsi-Boadi community pursuant to constitutional provisions. Therefore consent of the Huahi Royal Family is required as a matter of Law and of equity before any transaction affecting the Benimasi-Boadi Lands and made in favor of any person(s) can be lawful.
