FINAL UPDATE 28/1/25: Yay, the school has confirmed that there will be a "Garden Party" on 20 February for the whole school community. It's a bit classier than a "street party" but we'll take the win! This event will be our much anticipated opportunity to collectively celebrate the end of Tony George's tenure.

Since we have achieved our objective, we will close this petition. Thank you for all your support in this petition or its predecessor. It's great to know that the majority of the King's community wanted to celebrate, heal and move forward with positivity.

UPDATE 20/1/25: Two quick updates.

1) Yesterday the School Council and Tony George announced that they reached agreement that Tony's tenure as Headmaster should be terminated. This means the call for Tony George's reinstatement in another petition on this site is now irrelevant. I call upon the friends, family and other supporters of Tony George who are running that other petition to take it down now that the person they are asking to be reinstated has left voluntarily. The focus should now shift to healing and moving forward with positivity through a street party.

2) Thank you to the Australian Financial Review for highlighting this petition in their article about Tony George's termination. They note that we have "over 100 signatures" but I want to reinforce that, when combined with our original petition, we have more signatures than any other Tony George related petition. It's heartwarming to know that more people want to hold a street party to heal our community than the number of people who want to reinstate someone who has already voluntarily left the school after receiving a generous payout that he told reporters he was "very happy" with. Can't we just let the poor man move on from his regrettable tenure and enjoy the pile of money he has received.

Now that they have terminated his employment, we call on the Council of the King's School to hold a street party to celebrate the end of Tony George's tenure. This will allow the school community to come together, heal and look forward to brighter times ahead.

IMPORTANT: This is a replacement for a petition that went live yesterday. At the end of that day, just as we were approaching 150 signatures, the friends, family and other supporters of Tony George who are running another petition were successfully in getting our petition taken down. Based on the peformance of the two petitions yesterday, it is clear that ours was more successful and we are thrilled that there are so many supporters for a street party. However, we thought it was important to set up a replacement petition just to show the lengths that Tony George supporters will go to in order to silence those who disagree with them.

Strangely we are now in the position where Tony George's actions as Headmaster seem so unsual to the administrators of this website, that even listing them here risks further attempts to take down our petition. Luckily you only need to google his name to see many reports of the actions he took which are reason enough for a celebration to mark his departure.

The administrators of this website should monitor for those who make comments just for the purpose of insulting our petition, our intellect and our writing ability as they did yesterday. We also call on the administrators to watch out for other petitions that are seeking to influence the outcome of current court proceedings.

Tony George has been a divisive and disruptive leader at the King's School, whose tenure has left scars on our cherished institution. Many members of our community feel disheartened by the challenges and disunity that have occurred under his leadership. It's time to heal, to come together as a school and celebrate the end of an era, while looking forward to brighter times ahead.

We propose a street party to commemorate the end of Tony George's tenure. Such an event would not only mark the closing of one chapter but also signify the beginning of a new one for the King's School. Cementing this transitional period with a festive and inclusive event will allow us all to collectively start afresh, to bond, and to redefine our school spirit in a positive light.

With the Council's approval, this street party can become a beacon of hope, uniting students, staff, Old Boys, and the wider community. By celebrating the end of a challenging era, we also celebrate our resilience, our unity, and our readiness to come together for the collective good of the school.

We envision an event filled with laughter, joy, and the spirit of togetherness, remembering the past while embracing the future. Such an initiative would set the tone for future collaborations and community engagements.

Let us work hand-in-hand with the Council to make this vision a reality. Sign this petition to show your support for a street party that promises healing, unity, and a fresh start for everyone associated with the King's School. Let's rally together to initiate this pivotal moment of change. Your signature matters.
