Holbrook Jingellic Rd needs upgrading

Holbrook Jingellic Rd needs upgrading
The issue
The Holbrook to Jingellic Rd (Jingellic Rd) is a council maintained local road with heavy use from locals, trucks (especially logging) and tourists (especially caravans and boats accessing the Upper Murray). It is a major thoroughfare for the Upper Murray to Albury traffic, as well as stock, grain, fodder and fertiliser trucks.
The Greater Hume Council upgraded the Yarara Gap to enable B Double traffic but has neglected to upgrade the rest of the road to a suitable standard for the volume and type of traffic. The Council continually patches identified problem spots, but such patching does not last long and frequently results in paint chips and windscreen damage to vehicles using the road.
There are several narrow bridges, frequent fog and water hazards in the winter, and a long narrow stretch that makes it almost impossible for trucks / large vehicles to pass safely. Three school buses use the road twice daily during school terms.
Not only is the current state of the road damaging vehicles which use it, but more importantly we are concerned that the current state of the road represents a substantial risk to resulting in a serious accident.
We are requesting Council urgently seek appropriate funding to properly upgrade the Jingellic Rd to an appropriate standard for its use- including adequate surfacing, width and bridge widening.
PLEASE SIGN THIS PETITION TO LET COUNCIL KNOW HOW IMPORTANT UPGRADING JINGELLIC RD IS.
Thanks for your support for this important improvement,
Richard Harbison and Bruce Allworth, concerned local residents
