Two years ago, Warner Bros. Games took us to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry unlike anything we’ve ever endured ever since we were first introduced to the Wizarding World. That video game was HOGWARTS LEGACY, a magical adventure game in which we get to control our own destinies as young wizards navigating the world of Hogwarts and beyond and save all worlds from the wicked goblin Ranrok. The game itself was a MASSIVE success in its first launch on PS5, PS4, PC, XBox and finally the Nintendo Switch system months later during the holiday season of 2023. Now that we got news that a sequel is in development, I believe that as a Potterhead that I’ve got the perfect time setting. The new story takes place over a century later after the events that took place since Ranrok’s reign over goblin and wizardkind and the fall of Lord Voldemort. The unidentified student that we play as hasn’t aged at all due to the ability to harness ancient magic. The character looks like he or she is 17 again (the age that wizards are allowed to use magic outside school and apparate any time and anyWHERE). If players already own the first Hogwarts Legacy, their name of their avatar along with the wand they have selected at Ollivander’s, clothes and repeated sorted house robes including the famous relic robe which glows every time a spell is cast. Now for the spells. As far as I can tell, all spells from the last game are great including the infamous UNFORGIVABLE CURSES. However, 3 famous spells should be added to the roster like….Sectumsempra, Expecto Patronum (which can be cast at any time to form a spirit animal that not only fends off Dementors, but automatically takes down other enemies like dark wizards and trolls and spiders) and the power to Apparate at any location just like the Floo Network. The rest of the story is up to you guys, but with a lot of support from us fans and the team at Warner Bros. and Avalanche Software, I strongly believe that the next chapter in Hogwarts Legacy could once again defy the odds.
