On the 29th of December, fashion icon and lifelong activist Vivienne Westwood passed away at her home in London. 

Julian Assange and Vivienne Westwood were friends for more than a decade but the WikiLeaks founder is currently in prison fighting extradition to the US, so will need official permission to attend. Julian's wife Stella told the media that Julian will apply for permission to attend Vivienne’s funeral. 

With our petition we want to fight for Julian to be allowed to attend the funeral of his long-time friend; try to imagine for a moment that you were not allowed to say goodbye to a close friend. 

Julian has now been in Belmarsh Maximum Security Prison in London for almost 1560 days without sentence, to deny him a proper goodbye to his friend would be an unbelievably cruel act.
