I believe that it has been a travesty that Captain Eric "Winkle" Brown has been completely overlooked for his massive contribution to aviation and his military service during WW2. As one of the best and best known test pilots produced by this country he is also known as having flown the biggest and diverse range of aircraft in the world. Without the work he did the US navy would never have gotten their F4u Corsair aircraft to become operational off their aircraft carriers, so his work had international implications as well. He also because of this made an impact on the US's war in the Pacific.  A read of his autobiography will provide more than enough reasons why he deserves to knighted. He has given more to this country than any football manager, we need to sort out our priorities.
