Yesterday itself, a major leading airline Air Vistara became the first airline to provide free sanitary pads from Women's day to all their passengers. It makes my heart cry with joy to see such great initiatives coming up! Air Vistara News
Adding to that, The National Commission of Women previously, have also asked HRD Minister to install pad vending machines in educational institutions."In a letter, the National Commission for Women (NCW) has written to Union Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister Prakash Javadekar to consider the installation of sanitary napkin vending machines and incinerators within the premises of educational institutions across the country. The commission, in its letter, highlighted the fact that about 23 per cent of girls miss school or drop out of school due to non-availability of hygienic sanitary products inside the educational institutions, an official from the NCW told Press Trust of India."
Doesn't these news gives us a boost to keep fighting for our purpose? It surely does to me! I want the Assam government to draw inspiration from such amazing initiatives and bring pad vending machines to the government schools here.
