R D started this petition to Hills Road Sixth Form College

Both students and teachers have suffered from stressful conditions throughout lockdown with mental and physical health issues, loss of loved ones, isolation and stress due to online learning. It is unfair for students who have come from nearly a year of online learning who have home lives that no one knows what is like to be shoved into exams with settings that no other sixth form has to do, we are in competition for University places and Apprenticeships and we are already at a downfall and it seems our own sixth form wants us to fail as well. Shouldn’t our faculty want to make it as easy as possible for us? The government has given schools the option to look at past work and to do exams in non-exam settings which would be the best way forward, Hills Road has been doing assessments since the beginning of term in September and has more than enough proof of work and is usually known to be a considerate and caring school towards students but is completely disregarding its students mental health in this situation and pushing them to take exams in harsh exam settings. This is a petition to ask them to either cut the exams and allow us to do class assessments or use the proof from assessments already been done or for the exams to be done in class settings.
