Dear Supporter
I have been notified by Regulatory Services, Ealing council, as a result of complaints a meeting will be taking place on Thursday 22nd June 2017.
Please see below, the e-mail, I have sent to Harvey Bradshaw, Director of Environment and Business, The Environment Agency.
"Dear Mr Bradshaw
Residents in Southall, the London borough of Ealing and Hayes, the London borough of Hillingdon have experienced unacceptable levels of pollution since FM Conway Ltd, opened an asphalt plant in Hayes, in 2015. Despite an increase in the height of the stack, residents are still experiencing noticeable tar fumes and are attributing this to a variety of health complaints, detailed in the comments section of the attached petition.
I would appreciate it, if you could cascade this e-mail to your colleagues who will be attending a meeting with FM Conway Ltd, The London Borough of Hillingdon and the Environment Agency. I believe that this meeting is taking place on Thursday 22nd June 2017. I do hope that your colleagues will be able to find the time to read the comments, to understand how residents' health and well being is being affected by the inhalation of tar fumes.
Residents hope that the meeting brings about an improvement in pollution control, so that headaches, nausea, throat and eye irritation are eradicated, a reduction in asthma symptoms, elimination of other respiratory illnesses and a complete cessation of the misery that has been endured for the last two years."
Please continue to share this petition as I am sure that we are all aware that a meeting doesn't necessarily lead to decisive and effective action.
