Long awaited confirmation: sea level rise (see: https://edition.cnn.com/2020/07/30/weather/coastal-flooding-sea-level-rise-study-intl-hnk/index.html and ice sheet loss accelerated in 2020. After record ice loss in 2019, the ice sheets did not recover during the 2020 winters on the Northern and now in the Southern hemisphere. This is a rare event which, if confirmed in the next few years, would mark a predicted and feared inflection point for climate-change-induced global warming. In fact, as total ice mass decreases, the temperature regulation from ice melt will dwindle due to several natural warming amplifiers, including darkened surfaces in polar regions absorbing more solar heat in summer, both at sea (white sea ice being replaced by water) and on land (white fresh snow giving way to melting ice capturing dark dust and deposits from naked rock erosion, see https://edition.cnn.com/travel/article/pink-snow-italy-glacier-algae-scli-intl-scn/index.html ). Yet, a recent study proves that reducing GHG emissions would slow down this process so we could adapt and find solutions to reverse climate change  before irreversible loss of coastal land and historic landmarks.
