We attended and spoke at the technical review committee meeting yesterday. The Gun Range was approved with conditions. Residents showed up and voiced their concerns. Many pointed out that the gun range is within 1,000 feet of homes. So the county placed the condition that this needs to be verified. That is pretty much the only thing preventing the range right now. If the range goes through it will get someone killed. This range goes against the basic range constructions rules of don't have residential homes behind and above a gun range. Unless an armored overhead cover is installed it will be impossible to prevent a round from going over the berm. There is two ways rounds go over the berm. Someone simply aims too high or they shoot super low and the round hits the ground and ricochets over the berm. Both of these are common occurrences on every range.
