Help Us Relocate a Planned Celltower from Residential, to an Alternate Industrial Site!

Help Us Relocate a Planned Celltower from Residential, to an Alternate Industrial Site!
The Issue
On October 22 2025 LandSolutions Inc., on behalf of Terrion notified us that they are proposing to erect a 64.5 m Self Supporting Telecommunications Tower 130m off Ferriss Road.
The proposed location for this structure and the accompanying equipment shelter site is directly behind a residential property, just 28.3m from a residential property line and 40.5m from a residential dwelling along Ferriss Road in Harrow.
We, the undersigned residents, friends and community members, strongly oppose the construction of this tower at this site, for the following reasons:
- Proximity to Homes: The proposed tower is located directly behind an existing residential property. The base of the proposed tower is 120 feet from the families kitchen widow. The Tower is as tall as a 20 storey apartment building. Two thirds of a football field.
- Health and Safety Concerns: Many residents are concerned about potential long-term exposure to electromagnetic emissions and the safety risks associated with tall metal structures in residential zones.
- Property Value Impact: Numerous studies and real-estate assessments indicate that proximity to large telecommunications towers can negatively affect surrounding property values.
- Environmental and Visual Impact: The 65 m structure would significantly alter the rural and residential landscape, affecting scenic views, nearby trees, and the overall character of the neighborhood. Will the old growth trees at the perimeter of the property be harmed?
- Alternative Locations Available: We believe that more suitable, non-residential or industrial sites exist within the region to host this infrastructure without harming a family that lives adjacent to the proposed site.
We respectfully request that:
- Terrion, TELUS, and LandSolutions withdraw and relocate this proposal to a non-residential area.
- The Municipality withhold approval and request a review of alternative siting options.
- ISED Canada consider community opposition before licensing this installation.
