We now have signatures from every province and most major cities, but to make real change, we need to show local strength across the country. The more support we show in each community, the louder our message will be to the federal government: Canada needs to officially recognize bicycle mechanics as an occupation.

This change will strengthen the entire cycling industry — helping solve workforce shortages, improve data collection, and support those building lifelong careers in the bike world.

Local champions are making a huge difference — Savage’s Bike Shop in Fredericton has helped vault Fredericton to the highest number of signees per capita! While more than half of signees in the last 2 weeks have come from BC due to the work of folks that work at the Bike Kitchen and Our Community Bikes in Vancouver. Let’s keep the momentum going!

We need your help right now to grow support in your town. Our goal: 1,000 signatures in the next few weeks. Here’s how you can help:

• Share the petition on Facebook or X — just click the share buttons on the right!
• Email or WhatsApp it to friends, coworkers, or your cycling group using the share buttons on the right!
• Copy the petition link and post it on your networks such as LinkedIn or Instagram!
