End Men's Privilege in Dating Apps

End Men's Privilege in Dating Apps
The Issue
Enough!
Traditional patriarchal societal standards and expectations prescribe to most of us that every head of a romantic or sexual relationship must be a man instead, as an old-fashioned privilege. None of us has a choice; including the males.
While we have seen this male privilege subside elsewhere and despite certain social advances, the male privilege keeps going strong at popular date-matching applications. These places do not have the pre-set option to choose the relationship type, leaving it all to the interpretation that we all are abiding by that outdated rule.
- At best, some have expanded the acceptance of ethical non-monogamy or open relationships but overlook our Woman-Led relationships minority type without a voice to speak up before everything goes wrong.
Sure – It could be written on the bio, but still, these type of standard beliefs, won't flip it at the societal or cultural level, and it is subject to hate speech, harassment, and bullying.
Bottom line, men's privilege and sexism could lead to crimes and other unsatisfactory outcomes when it is not clear from the start where we truly stand.
- Having no clear boundaries set by these type of applications, only feeds up entitlement to rights over a connection before there is a bond.
We strongly believe you could help to lower the exponential incompatibility and establishment of more fitting settings that keep up with our rapid social diversity acceptance growth.
Being upfront and consent matters! This should happen from the get-go.
We shouldn't have to go the extra mile to make known who we prefer leads the connection. Nor people go through more fails or stay in the vulnerability to prejudicial or toxic narratives.
- We could take our voices to those popular apps to request a revision of their settings and possibly take immediate action. All we ask of you is to sign our petition and let us do the rest.
Help end the male privilege and entitlement to raise a healthier female-led relationship awareness and acceptance.
Our voices together could make a difference over time, and start by taking baby steps such as this one.
From the DWL Society Founder:
“My vision is the normalization of conscious female-led relationships by raising healthier social awareness. This is completely about human rights, and not about sex, gender equality or superiority. I have personally been a victim of harassment, abuse, and bullying for simply writing my personal preferences. The likelihood of this could have been prevented it, simply by a matching filter, and I know I am not the only one with these struggles. While it has led to being depressed, thankfully, it has not escalated as other stories. Yet!”
