Thank you everyone for the unbelievable pouring of emotion and support for this exceptional Vet and Human Being. Alex is not only our Community Vet, he is our friend, part of the family and the pillar of foundation for our community. Our pets need him and he should be re-instated immediately.
There has been no response from Medivet.
A show of support was planned for Saturday 4th of May.
However, I think this should be postponed for a number of reasons.
Emotions are running high and I don't think this is helping Alex's case. We need to take a deep breath and allow Alex to deal with Medivet in the coming days, and no doubt more details will become evident.
A Risk Assessment was conducted regarding the show of support for Alex commencing in the Social Club Car Park for next Saturday the 4th May.
After taking into consideration this would probably make the staff at Medivet in Forest Row anxious, also the pets and their owners who will be attending appointments on that day might possibly feel anxious and possibly intimidated, not to mention their pets who are also anxious about just going to the vets. There is also the matter of the Fire Station in the vicinity that requires unobstructed access to do their vital job for The Community. Health and Safety also has to be taken into consideration.
To summarise, the show of support planned for Saturday 4th of May is postponed to allow Alex to deal with Medivet in a constructive manner, together with his Legal Representatives.
It is also apparent that the Staff at Medivet in Forest have been treated badly by some pet owners, since the news of Alex's situation. Alex loves his staff and would be bereft if this is allowed to happen. Please treat the staff at the practice with the respect they deserve. They are also missing Alex.
A public show of support cannot be ruled out, however this will require careful planning and a dedicated team to get together to organise this. Let's visit this option again once more details come to light as to how Medivet treat Alex.
In the meantime, keep sharing The Petition. People are voting with their feet by boycotting Medivet. This will eventually hurt their bottom line and they will have to take note.
