Help to Hold Companies Accountable for their Cobalt Usage

The Issue

Congo is slowly being bled dry for it's resources, and the people and children of Congo are being worked in unethical working conditions for very little pay. A huge resource that much of the world uses is Cobalt, which is used in most recharchable batteries and electronic vehicles. The push to go green in a lot of countries is fueled by the blood and tears of child labor and dangerous working conditions in Congo. The mining in Congo is also taking a terrible toll on the enviroment and economy, as more and more of the land is stripped of good farmland for mines to be built, and more of the country is thrown into war.

I am making this petition to send to big companies that use Cobalt from Congo in their products and to ask that they have full transparency with their consumers about where and how they get their cobalt. The first step is to hold different companies that use Lithium batteries accountable with full transparency, so that custumers are able to make informed desicions about what and where they buy products! Such companies such as Telsa, Apple, Android, JUUL, SMOK, Glencore, etc.. Tons of companies have come under fire for using cobalt mined unethically in Congo and either have done nothing or have done the bare minimum.

As different government and companies are pushing to Go Green and start using electricity instead of gas, that comes at a price of the innocent people of Congo. Help me act now and take the first few steps of urging companies to be transparent with their custumers so we are informed about what companies we should boycott and refuse to buy from. With these first steps, we can pave the way for reform and change.
