Help us persuade the American government to reconsider the shortened stay times imposed on the Iranian soccer/football team for the 2026 World Cup games.  Any accepted participants in World Cup, regardless of political, economical or environmental circumstances all deserve equal accommodations by their host country.

As many of you know, the Iranian team who has been a part of FIFA since 1945, is currently practicing in Tijuana, Mexico where they then fly into the US game day then leave shortly after back to Mexico. This sets players up at an unfair disadvantage as they aren’t getting any chances to experience the fields prior to games plus a lack of sleep and practice time taken up by flight preparation. Not to mention, the added stress is not healthy for professional athletes both physically or mentally. If we accept these players to compete, we must also give them a fair shot in order to do so. 

This petition is to demonstrate how many people from all walks of life want the American government to give Iranian players in the 2026 World Cup games at least 1-2 (if not more) extra days in selected cities prior to and after their game to provide adequate preparation both mentally and physically in order to have a fair match. This isn’t about politics, this is about respect in sports. Let’s come together to accomplish showing what it means to be a part of World Cup.
