Comic book films in a different genre tend to do better than those such as Marvel and cheap filmmaking at the Oscars. Widely regarded as one of the best comic book films and one of the best movies of 2022, The Batman is a masterpiece. It's a sweeping epic of emotional proportions that propels the genre into pure cinema territory. I know that DC films tend to do better at the Oscars than Marvel. It's because they actually try and do different things. The Batman is no exception to this as it endures in character, story and emotions like true cinema. The technicalities of the film highlight the prowess of Matt Reeves as a director and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences should recognize the art that this movie is. Fans and non-fans should have their favorite art forms celebrated and praised. It's one of the things that which The Academy was founded on. My message to The Academy, nominate The Batman for Best Picture at the Oscars and it will receive enough support for fans of the community. Art deserves recognition. If it wins in categories, it will be a historic win for CB movies and movies in general.
