Yesterday and the day prior were good days.
With the exception of Virginia Bass, all the other Supervisors returned my calls and we had great discussions.
The bad news is I don't see how we will get everything we want. There is too much resistance in the community and there are all sorts of legal issues that the County has to navigate, including potential lawsuits by various groups. The good news is - without exception - the Supervisors, regardless of their own leanings, all felt that more restrictions would be coming for people who don't get vaccinated. Even those Supervisors who would be considered more "conservative," and less inclined to support a mandate were supportive of requiring tests for unvaccinated people to enter various venues. Add to that the movement being made by President Biden and the prediction is we will move down that path.
The other commonality was the all the Supervisors were very supportive of me reaching out and encouraged me to tell others to do the same. There will be a discussion on Tuesday at the Board Meeting to determine what to do about County employees and mandates. They want to hear from you.
Call them now. This won't just happen. We have to make it happen.
I will end up sending the petition to them on Monday.
