Sadly, we continue to increase our case count at an alarming rate. We added 114 more cases yesterday, the "vast majority" of course are unvaccinated, and we now have a frightening 28.5% positivity rate. That makes 428 so far this week — as well as three new hospitalizations.
Yesterday's cases make 1,748 so far this month, to go with 73 hospitalizations and 12 deaths.
I wrote a letter to kymkemp.com about the mandate and if you have a really strong stomach, you can read what the anti-vaxxers are saying about our effort. Warning: it's not pretty and much of it is not true. There have been over 200 comments, many of which are personal attacks aimed at me, comparing this effort to the Nazis, among others. I'm saddened but not surprised how people will post virtually anything on the web. (See the letter and responses here.)
Beyond that, I am meeting with one of the members of the board of supervisors tomorrow. I'll update that when I can.

What our county has done so far has not worked. We must do something different. But, it will not just happen. It's up to us.
Thank you so much. Let's keep moving.
