Help stop the Airedale Mills, Rodley development

The Issue

The problem is the development of Airedale Mills in Rodley to 66 dwellings with a four storey block of flats. The developers removed the bridge without full permission and they are taking much much longer to replace it. Their original plans have changed also which involves removal of many more beautiful old habitat full trees, no consideration to a wildlife buffer between the housing development, no mention of a supposed cat protection fence. There is also no consideration of those that use the canal, the amount of extra traffic on an already very congested road, no extra schools, GP surgeries etc etc etc. This development should never have been given approval. It’s over a canal bridge, next to a nature reserve full of wildlife and the safety it provides, the roads are congested already, the canal is busy with walkers, runners, cyclists, children enjoying the safety a tow path provides and in nature. Why not add to the nature reserve or make in a stunning wild green open space for people to enjoy. Not yet more unaffordable housing adding to flooding and climate change. The destruction of these trees and the habitat is nothing short of barbaric and selfish. It must stop.
