Petition updateHelp Stop Systemic Violence Against Indigenous womenSelective Responses Are Not Accountability

I am sharing this update in the interest of transparency.

Over the past months, I have engaged with the professional regulatory system through formal complaints, written submissions, and follow-up correspondence. While responses have been issued at times and in ways chosen by the regulator, there has been no clear outcome, no public findings, and no corrective action communicated to date.

The planner named in this petition continues to operate publicly and professionally, including participating in media coverage, while the complaint process remains unresolved.

I pursued these processes in good faith, believing that concerns involving professional ethics, harm, and Indigenous land stewardship would be addressed with seriousness and integrity. Instead, what has been demonstrated is a system where communication occurs selectively, without transparency or resolution.

To be clear:

• This petition was never about attention.

• It was never about process alone.

• It was about change and justice.

At this point, justice has not been delivered.

What has occurred is the creation of a public record — one that shows how accountability can be delayed or obscured through controlled communication, particularly when community members raise concerns against powerful institutions.

Disclaimer:

This update constitutes a protected act of self-expression and public-interest commentary. It reflects my lived experience and observations of process and outcomes to date. No findings of misconduct are alleged or implied, and no confidential or evidentiary materials are disclosed. This statement is made in good faith and within my right to speak openly about matters of public concern.

It also acknowledges a broader and well-documented concern that when Indigenous people raise issues through formal systems, prolonged silence, selective engagement, or procedural opacity can have a suppressive effect on Indigenous voices. Naming that risk is itself an act of transparency, not an allegation.

I am updating this petition not because the issue has ended, but because the nature of the response itself is now part of the record. Selective engagement is not accountability.

Thank you to everyone who signed, shared, and stood in solidarity. Your support ensured this concern was documented, witnessed, and cannot be quietly dismissed.

This record remains.
