735 voices have already risen in unity — but Lemay Forest still needs us.
Lemay Forest is more than trees and land. It is directly connected to the history of the St. Boniface Industrial School and nearby Rooster Town — places where Indigenous families, children, and communities endured displacement, erasure, and loss. This land holds memory, spirit, and truth.
Despite its deep cultural significance, planning and development pressures continue. We have witnessed ceremonies being photographed without consent, sacred fire spaces being documented and used in legal filings, and the voices of Elders, matriarchs, and Knowledge Keepers disregarded.
This petition calls for systemic change, not just individual accountability:
🔹 Protect Lemay Forest and other connected sites as part of our shared history and memory
🔹 Safeguard Indigenous ceremonies — they are not evidence, bargaining chips, or spectacles
🔹 Demand transparency and accountability from all planning bodies and decision-makers affecting sacred lands
We are approaching a crucial moment:
📅 On September 30th, 2025, we will gather at Lemay Forest for a Residential School Survivors' Honour Ceremony. Together, we will hold space for healing, remembrance, and truth.
Every signature strengthens this call. Every share amplifies our voices. Our children deserve to be remembered, our ancestors deserve respect, and our sacred spaces deserve protection. Please sign and share. Stand with us.
In solidarity,
