EVERY SIGNATURE HELPS TO GET TO YHE GOAL!!!  THIS PROBLEM NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED!!! PLEASE SIGN AND SHARE!!

To help with any confusion, the purpose of this petition is to attempt to convince the doctor and Privia Medical Group to not drop approx 3000 patients because they can’t afford to pay so much out of pocket. The other purpose is to make sure people know this change CANNOT be applied to federal employees, Medicare patients, and ALL Blue Cross Blue Shield members.

My wife and I have been patients of Doctor Reza Golesorkhi of Potomac Internal Medicine in Woodbridge, VA for nearly 20 years.  During this time, I have convinced my parents, my daughters, and my daughters fiancée to drop their previous medical doctors and change to D.r Golesorkhi.

I’m the last couple months, Dr Golesorkhi has decided his personal fiscal gain is more important than actual patient care.  He has joined, or contracted with, a third party private business (SignatureMD) to become a “Concierge” doctor.  In doing this, he has started demanding a $2000.00 out of pocket charge person in each household.  (I.e. my house has 5 adults seeing him as their primary care physician, which means my household would have to pay $10,000.00 per year, for the “privilege” of have him be our doctor).  He and his office are now telling people this is not true and it would only be $4000.00, but the SignatureMD document we received say $10,000 for my family.

In addition to this problem, SignatureMD has been given the personal and medical information illegally to facilitate this change for Dr Golesorkhi, which absolutely violate HIPAA laws.  Every patients personal health Information (PHI) and personally Identifiable Information (PII) has now been compromised.

When Doctor Reza Golesorkhi, Potomac Internal Medicine, operating under the contract of Privia Medical Group, his goal was to abandon care for thousands of patients to minimize his patient load to APPROX 600 patients.  $2000.00 time 600 patients give Dr Golesorkhi $1.2 Million dollars out of his patients pockets.  In addition to this $1.2 he is still being paid my the health insurance companies for all services rendered.  This makes it clear that he is not doing this for the benefit of his patients, but purely personal gain.

Doctor Golesorkhi and Potomac Internal Medicine also been made aware that this out of pocket charge is not allow for ALL FEDERAL EMPLOYEES.  The majority of federal employees health insurance benefits are paid by federal monies.  The federal Government contracts with insurance companies to supply health insurance, which complied with all requirements of the federal government.  The contracted insurance companies contract with physicians to provide health care within the guidelines of the insurance companies and within the guidelines of the federal government.  These physicians are required to charge patients ONLY negotiated charges at the Negotiated amounts.

Doctor Golesorkhi and Potomac Internal Medicine Have also been told by Blue Cross Blue Shield Federal Employee Benefits that this “Concierge” charge is a disallowed charge and also told THEY CANNOT APPLY THIS CHARGE TO ANY OF their members.  All other patients would likely find their insurance companies  would say the same.

it is my hopes that this petition makes its way to all of Doctor Golesorkhi’s patients so they can make an informed decision and so they know they do not have to give this out of pocket money.  People should be protected against these predatory practices and take immediate action to protect themselves.

Immediate   HIPAA violations should be submitted at the one line HIPAA website.  The Virginia Medical Licensing Board should also be notified.  Federal employees CANNOT be charged this out of pocket fee and should immediately take action through the Federal Employee Health Benefits program (FEHB) so the breeches of contracts can be reviewed.

Everything contained in this write up has been given to me by the appropriate legal, medical, or departmental entities authorized to make these determinations.
