Help Stop Pollution in New York's Lakes

The Issue

New York's lakes are facing a severe pollution crisis, threatening both wildlife and human health. Oneida lake has toxic algae blooms which can cause skin and eye irritation to humans and can even kill dogs. Unfortunately no one is taking action with the problem in Oneida lake. There is another lake that is well known for its pollution, Onondaga lake. The pollution started in the 1880s and over 100 years and it is still the most polluted lake in New York. Ammonia and Phosphorus are one of the most widespread nutrients in the lake and they appear in such high levels because of human waste that was dumped into Onondaga lake with little to no treatment. This issue started in the 1880s and we are now trying to take action and no one is taking action with Oneida. Sign this petition so that Oneida and other lakes around New York can be pollution free.
