We are asking for the public to sign this petition as an investigation is needed into stopping a known convicted child sex offender from gaining access to children publicly.

Recently channel Nine and its A current affairs program (ACA) exposed a Steven James Harvey for working at a Queensland petting Zoo "City Chicks" near Samford QLD, who was convicted of the following in 2017.

2x maintaining unlawful relationship with a child

2x indecent treatment of a child

9x rape

2x sexual assault

At the time of conviction Steven James Harvey received a custodial sentence of 8 years, but only served 4 years then was given parole.

Channel Nine investigations reported in November 2025 that Steven James Harvey had been employed for quite some time at a petting zoo established for parents with their children to attend called City Chicks at Samford, QLD.

At the time of the Nine news report it was suggested Steven James Harvey was sacked but ACA have since investigated to find the owner of City Chicks hadn’t sacked Steven James Harvey.

This petition is to lobby the state government representative for Pine river to ask for an investigation into why Steven James Harvey wasn’t flagged by Blue card services QLD and ask Police to investigate the circumstance surrounding a known heinous child sex offender having access to children on a daily basis.
